My Role at TSAAD

My name is Roland Weierstall-Pust, and I work at TSAAD as a coach and consultant. Additionally, I hold a position as a W3 professor of clinical psychology and psychotherapy at the Faculty of Human Sciences at the Medical School Hamburg. I offer psychotherapeutic treatment as part of my Private Practice in Frankfurt. 

My Areas of Focus in the Field of Stress and Trauma Related Health Consequences

I have extensive and internationally recognized expertise in therapeutic and scientific work with, among others, trauma survivors and individuals with roles as perpetrators from various cultures, countries, and post-conflict settings, such as:

  • Ugandan child soldiers

  • Veterans of World War II

  • Survivors of the Rwandan genocide

  • Traumatized youth in disadvantaged regions of South Africa

  • Military personnel of the AMISOM mission

  • Paramilitaries and rebel groups

  • Minor refugees from Syria in Lebanon

  • Trauma survivors in Cameroon, Afghanistan, and Senegal

I have experience in leading therapeutic and research projects, including training and supervision of local healthcare experts, and supporting the establishment of local healthcare structures in Germany and internationally.

  • M.Sc. equivalent degree in Psychology (Diplom Psychologe) from Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf

  • Doctorate from Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf (Ph.D. in Natural Sciences); recipient of the Friedrich-Naumann Foundation for Freedom Scholarship

  • Research Assistant (Assistant) and Academic Advisor at the University of Konstanz in the field of Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology (Habilitation; Venia Legendi for the entire field of Psychology)

  • Training as a Psychological Psychotherapist (with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)

  • Extensive experience as an independent expert and consultant in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, specializing in Stress and Trauma-related Disorders and Forensics

  • Appointment as W3 Professor in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at Medical School Hamburg

  • Director of Research and Business Development at Oberberg Klinikgruppe, overseeing all clinic locations nationwide at the holding company level
